Today, 5a and 5c were asked to work on 4.1 and 4.2 on pages 47 and 48, respectively. Please do all!!
5c has an additional assignment: Room measuring. Find three rooms in your house and measure them in feet and feet fractions. I am not interested in inches, but in seeing you work with fractions. So, 10 ft. 6 in. becomes 10 and 1/2 feet, for the purposes of the exercise. Measure length and width of each room and make a scale drawing, using 1/2 inch equal to one foot. Find the area of each room, clearly demonstrating your ability to multiply with fractions.
Last week 5a had additional work, so it's only fair!
If you find you are still having trouble adding/subtracting or multiplying/dividing fractions, you need to review what we have done. Look for problems you can do in the workbook, try them, and then check your answer against the key.
